Salt Lake City, UT- The University of Utah Men’s Tennis team will open up the 2017/2018 campaign Friday when it hosts the 2017 University of Utah Invitational Tournament.
The Utes will compete against Utah State, Weber State, and Nevada at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. First serve will be daily at 9am MT. All matches will be best of 3 sets no-ad sets, with a tiebreaker at 6 all. Each group will compete in a round robin, and a potential tiebreaker will be determined by total sets won vs. sets lost.
Last year, the Utes won 3 out of 4 singles draws, as well as a doubles draw.
The Utah Invitational will be the first look at the new and improved Utes squad. Returning 8 players from 2017, the Utes are looking to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the first time in 20 years.
As always, admission will be free and fans are encouraged to park on the east side of Guardsman Way.
