Salt Lake City, UT – The University of Utah men’s tennis team today announced the commitment of 4-star recruit Sami Soufi from Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Sami is a stand up young man who will bring a great level of tennis and a lot of class and hard work to our team,” said head coach Roeland Brateanu. “We are tremendously excited with his commitment and look forward to working with Sami in the years to come. He’s a tremendously talented young man.”
Soufi has ranked as high as No. 29 in the nation and won the 2014 USTA Doubles National Championships in Winston Salem, NC, partnering Bennet Crane.
“I chose the University of Utah for it’s outstanding tennis and academic programs. The main reason shines on the group of guys I’ll be joining including the coaches. I knew it was a great fit for me after I visited and I know I can add to such an exceptional team. I’m excited to spend the coming years with a good group and great coaches.”
Soufi will join a star studded Ute team that is returning 5 of 6 starters.
