STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of Utah men’s tennis team carded a win against the University of the Pacific today, with a final score of 5-2. With this victory, the Utes are now 14-4 overall.

In doubles, the Tigers took the early edge by earning the point. Egbert Weverink and David Micevski were the only doubles team to card a win, defeating Ross Watson and Alex Giannini with a final score of 6-3, at the No. 2 position.
The Utes rallied back in singles action, with Joe Woolley cruising past Lance Ngo at the No. 5 position, with a final score of 6-2, 6-1. Slava Shainyan then defeated Ross Watson at the No. 4 spot, with a final score of 7-6 (5-0), 6-1. Then at the No. 6 position, Egbert Weverink edged out Bryan Huslin, with a final score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. David Micevski defeated Alex Giannini at the No. 1 position with a final score of 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 6-1, with Parker McGuiness rounding things off for the Utes defeating Akram El Sallaly with a final score of 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
The Utah men’s tennis team will be back in action this Friday to begin PAC-12 play, as the Utes set to match up against the Cal Bears, with play beginning at 6 p.m. MST.
