Fountain Valley, CA – After a solid performance on Friday against 16th seeded Nikita Matveyko (RUS), sophomore David Micevski (MKD) dominated in the 2nd round of the ITF Futures in Fountain Valley, California, dispatching Sean Robel (USA), 6-1, 6-0 to advance to the 3rd round of the qualifying draw.
“I feel it was a great win for me and I feel comfortable going into tomorrow’s 3rd round match,” said Micevski. “We played a lot of long rallies and I won because I made fewer unforced errors and overall was more consistent than my opponent today.”
Micevski will continue his quest for his first ATP point on Sunday when he faces Nicholas Shamma (USA) in the 3rd round of the qualifying draw. Shamma reached the third round by defeating Argentinian Luciano Spinetta in the first round and Guillermo Ucelay in the 2nd round.
Tomorrow’s 3rd round match is scheduled to be played not before 11am PT.
