Ojai, CA – The 7th seeded University of Utah men’s tennis team (17-9, 1-6) will face the 6th seeded Washington Huskies in the first round of the Pac-12 Championships. First serve will be Wednesday, April 20 at 3 p.m. PT at Libbey Park in Ojai, California.
“It’s great to be back in Ojai for the Pac-12 Championships,” said head coach Roeland Brateanu . “We are fighting for our last chance to extend our season and always have great battles with Washington. I expect another great fight this time around.”
The Pac-12 hosts a team tournament to determine the automatic qualifier for the NCAA Championships. Teams are be seeded based on won-lost percentages during regular-season Conference play. The Pac-12 Network will broadcast the tennis championships live for both of the men’s matches on Friday as well as the Championship match on Saturday. The Utes fell in a nail-biter to Washington during Pac-12 Play in Seattle, 4-3. Utah looks to build upon its momentum after winning its final regular season match of the year versus Arizona, 6-1. The winner of the first round match-up between Utah and Washington will face No. 3 seed California.
