Salt Lake City, UT – The University of Utah men’s tennis team (16-9, 0-6) will fight for a Pac-12 victory this weekend in its last regular season match in Tucson, Arizona. The Arizona Wildcats (8-16, 0-6) will host the Utes in the final match before the Pac-12 Tournament in Ojai, California.
Last weekend, the Utes and Wildcats both dropped decisions to #8 USC and #4 UCLA. Last year, the Utes secured a 4-2 victory over the Wildcats in Salt Lake City on Senior Day.
“We look forward to playing Arizona this weekend to see if we can get our 17th win of the season and set a school record,” said head coach Roeland Brateanu.
96th ranked Nakodi Takeda leads Arizona at the No. 1 singles position. He holds a 16-8 singles record this season. Takeda will likely match up with the Utes’ graduating senior Matt Cowley, who lead UCLA’s 6th ranked Mackenzie McDonald 6-3, 5-5 last Sunday before play was abandoned.
