Utah Hosts No. 62 Washington and No. 56 Oregon

vs WashingtonThe University of Utah men’s tennis team (10-10, 0-4 Pac-12) hosts two conference matches this weekend: No. 62 Washington (10-9, 0-4 Pac-12) on Friday at 4 p.m. MT, and No. 56 Oregon (11-8, 0-4 Pac-12) on Sunday at 12 p.m. MT. Both matches will be played at Coach Mike’s Tennis Academy, weather permitting.

The 62nd ranked Washington Huskies have yet to secure a road or Pac-12 victory this season. Last weekend, Washington fell at home to No. 33 California, 4-3, and No. 38 Stanford, 5-2. The Huskies are led by freshman Mitch Stewart, who is ranked No. 99 in the nation in singles play. Washington’s doubles team of Emmet Egger and Jeff Hawke is   ranked No. 48 and holds a record of 11-4. Last year, No. 58 Utah defeated Washington in Seattle, 4-2.vs Oregon

No. 56 Oregon faces Arizona in Tucson before traveling to Salt Lake City. The Ducks are   1-6 on the road this season and winless in Pac-12 play. Oregon’s Daan Maasland is ranked 122nd in singles play and recently upset No. 38 Stanford’s 43rd-ranked Tom Fawcett at No. 1 singles. No. 58 Utah cliched a conference victory last year by upsetting No. 27 Oregon on the road, 4-2.
