NCAA President Emmert Congratulates Utah Men’s Tennis

The University of Utah men’s tennis team received a letter from NCAA President Mark Emmer congratulating them on being awarded the 2012 NCAA Public Recognition Award.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate your institution’s recipient of the NCAA Public Recognition Award. This honor is bestowed on teams with an NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports,” said President Emmert.

“Thank you for your leadership and support of the academic reform efforts. These teams represent intercollegiate athletics at its best,” Emmert continued.

The men’s tennis team finished No. 1 in the Pac-12 and it marks the second straight year the NCAA recognized its perfect multi-year APR score.
