Santa Clara’s top contenders include senior Nicholas Vinel and sophomore John Lamble, who both currently hold 3-1 records in singles dual matches, as well as junior Tom Pham, who is currently undefeated at 3-0.

The Utes were defeated by the 52nd-ranked Rebels, 5-2, in Las Vegas, Nev., in 2011. Freshmen Devin Lane and Matt Cowley netted Utah’s two points from the Nos. 3 and 5 singles positions. Lane battled Johannes Markel for a 7-5, 6-7(5), 1-0(7), victory at the No. 3 position, followed by a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 win from Cowley over Alex Bull at the fifth slot.
