The University of Utah men’s tennis team (6-0) improved to a perfect 6-0 record on Saturday after defeating two regional opponents. The Utes beat the Montana State Bobcats in the afternoon match 7-0, earning their second shutout of the season.

The evening match featured a matchup with in-state rival Utah State and after losing the doubles point, the Utes took care of business in the singles winning all six matches without losing a single set.

At 6-0, the Utes currently have their best start since the 2005 season when they started the year 8-0.

“It is nice to get two more wins under our belts,”said head coach FD Robbins. “We now look ahead to playing two very tough matches against Denver and UNLV next weekend.”

See the Utes next in action Friday February 15 at 5pm against No. 52 ranked Denver (2-2), and Saturday February 16 at 12pm against UNLV (5-0). Both matches will be played at the Eccles Tennis Center and 50 free pizzas will be available to the fans!
